Shanghai's Enchantment & what I wore

Romper: ZARA
Hat: BCBG

Earlier this year my husband and I decided to take a far away trip to the other side of the world.  The first stop on my anticipated trip was China.  We spent two days in Shanghai just to get a taste of the culture and to see the Yu Garden before our main travel destination.  The people in Shanghai were so pleasant, helpful, and welcoming.  They were overjoyed to be able to meet visitors from America and my husband and I were often asked to take pictures with them.

Our second day included long walks, shopping indeed and exploring the enchanted Yu Garden.  For this particular day I wore a burnt orange romper that resembled a mini dress.  On the romper was one silver buckle accent on each side of the waist.  I donned a large straw hat with black ribbon lined accents to complete the outfit.  The weather started off rainy but that didn't dampen our thirst for exploring.  By mid morning as we got deep into the city of Old Shanghai it was a bright sunny day and perfect for reenacting a day dream that had been recurring in my mind for sometime now.

International look without the stamp...

Necklace: Nasty Gal
Earrings: Nasty Gal
Purchased June 2016

These pieces are intriguing to me because they have an international and cultural look to them.  They resemble pieces that I would look for while traveling to exotic places.  I definitely will be incorporating them in many of my summer looks.  Even greater is their affordability.

Reinventing in Paradise

Body suit: ZARA
Necklace: Nasty Gal

Little secret about this swimsuit, it's really a body suit... 🙃

As I tried it on and looked at the lines of the garment and the understated sexiness of it all, I couldn't resist using it as a bathing suit.  The material doesn't drag when wet and what I love about it is that you can wear it in so many way.  Don't let names and titles of garments restrict how you can reinvent the way that they are used.

Vibrant thing...

Today I'm putting on my vibrant attire as I become one with the scenery...

Top & Skirt: Lord & Taylor (on sale now!) ☺️
Shoes: Marshalls

There is something about the lush greenery of an island full of electrifying charm.

My favorite place on earth...

Love pieces you can mix and match... Tons of possibilities and options are key, when packing interchangeable items of clothing, especially when you are away from home.

My favorite place on earth, is a 3hr. airplane ride from NY... The beaches are pristine, the sand is plush and soft to the touch... and the atmosphere is simply lovely.

I arrived at Turks & Caicos and as always immediately feel at home.  You can rent a standard car and see all of Providenciales for an affordable price & it's worth it.

Vest, Shirt, Shorts: BCBGeneration @ Lord & Taylor
Sandals: Charolette Russe

This time I'm staying at the Oasis Bay Resort.  This brand new boutique hotel is a dream with two bedroom accomodations and intimate, tropical grounds.  As soon as you arrive you are greeted warmly and put to ease.  A short walk to the beach (5 mins) and you will see why I love it so much.

Since this is a brand new hotel the cost is still low and I am sure it won't be that way for too long, we immediately got upgraded upon our arrival and the amenities are excellent.  Stay tuned ☺️

Love of Fashion & Travel

Bikini Top: Target
Shorts: H&M
Hat: Francescas

There is such an exciting feeling that comes over me when fashion meets travel.  I love for the pieces I choose to tell a story.  It's important that I choose items that are interchangeable and can go from day to night seamlessly.  By doing so I pack less and my ensemble comes naturally with little effort.  It was important to purchase pieces that were extremely affordable, but didn't look so.

Antigua has been very hypnotizing...  Not only are there 365 gorgeous beaches, but the ones that I've witnessed (Dickerson, Jolly Habour, Halfmoon, Turner, Long Bay, Devil's Bridge... to name a few of my favorites) have pristine turquoise waters & soft sand.  The people are so inviting & kind.  Being surrounded by such beauty & good vibes is a wonderful feeling and something that will stay with me for awhile.

Bikini: Target

Top: Forever21
Bikini: Target

After dinner my first day arriving in Antigua, I wore a dress shirt over my bikini.  This dress shirt button up, is the exact one I wore during my flight.  It can be worn with a skirt, shorts...etc.  it's such an interchangeable piece and a statement necklace or belt can change the whole look.  Visit back for more tips & more vacations to come.  Stay blessed.

Spring forward with these 4 Spring must haves...

Purchased all items from Lord & Taylor.  The Free People's romper is the essence of Spring with its vibrant print.  The leg warmers are essential for layering when you want to wear those shorts, skirts, and lighter clothing, but the weather is still a little chilly.  Can't forget a hat and necklace to pull the outfit together with some harmony.  Here's to new beginnings!

At Last MOMA...

My trip to see MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in NYC was a long anticipated one.  Since the beginning of last year I wanted to go.  At last my birthday was coming up again and I decided to make the trip a reality.  The museum is very contemporary and seamless in design.  I have to say my favorite art collection was Monet.  There was something about entering the room, seeing his work and instantly feeling a veil of calm cascade over me.  It felt like serene bliss as my eyes roamed around the beautiful colors and patterns of his murals.  It was exactly what I needed because it was so unexpected and mesmerizing.  For my outfit I decided to wear an edgy and sleek coat from BCBG, it is on sale for more then half off.  I paired it with a high waist pants and a blouse from ZARA and my hot pink pumps purchased a while ago from Marshalls.

Luxury Struts in with Faux Fur...

Necklace: BCBG
Vest: Lord & Taylor
Belt: Francescas
Skirt: Top Shop

What's winter without a luxurious looking fur purchase...  The faux fur vest is on sale at Lord & Taylor.
My four tips today on purchasing faux fur:

1.  Look at the quality of the fur.  Make sure it looks and feels real even if it isn't.

2.  Make sure you choose a timeless color that works well with the pieces that it will be worn with.

3.  Be sure to wear items that are tight underneath the fur since fur tends to appear voluminous.  For this outfit I sported a belt to cinch the waist of the vest and provide a more slimming silhouette.

4.  Be sure to rock your fur with confidence, head high with pizazz.
