New beginnings....

 

Love this time of year when I can feel that Spring is in the horizons and the earth is still bleak, but there is hope for new beginnings. This inspired me to put together this casual ensemble. I added the accessories that I purchased last week to provide that pop of color and coincidentally the sweater also has a hint of the same color as well. The blouse is from Gap, the necklace is from Loft and the skirt is vintage from Hong Kong. You can swipe the skirt for any olive bottom... I can picture my olive harem pants, or even some olive color washed jeans or cargo pants.

Found this bright and vibrant leather cross body tote from Gap... it actually comes in many different shades and it has a strap so that you can wear it across your body. Priced at $120, but I purchased it during one of their sales last week and paid only $99. Gap is constantly having a sale so it is possible to get it for a lower price. Not a bad price for a real leather bag that is sure to provide that perfect splash of color. I love to wear neutrals or a bland mix of colors and just accessorize here and there with a color that just invigorates the look as a whole. The scarf was less than $15 and the necklace and earrings were each less than $15 from the Loft. The glasses are the best deal yet, for only $6. My dream is to show others how to shop in an affordable manner without sacrificing the quality or the essence of luxury. We should all have an opportunity to look our best regardless of our financial status.

Spring Forward, Winter Au Revoir!!!

Today we set the clocks one hour ahead and I am truly excited about longer & warmer days to come.  What a great way to say goodbye to winter with this cute au revoir pouch from Loft (item# 369971).  Also from Loft this super hot white pair of sun glasses for less then $7! (final sale item)  I was also excited to come across this great pair of blush pink loafers (color is listed as pink fairy at Gap) which is a very popular color this season. (item #142616) I also spotted this bigger bag, also from the Gap because I can be such a bag lady especially as a mom. (item #224915)  Good Bye Winter!

Reading w/ Style

Last Thursday's snow storm gave me the perfect opportunity to relax and catch up on some "styled" reading.  I loved the piece written regarding Dries Van Noten collection.  I snuggled in my quiet space while my hubby and son were preoccupied upstairs in my brand new stockings from Francesca's.  A new Departures magazine close by which held many insights on escaping ones current surroundings, just in time for planning my next get away.  The sunglasses shown are also from Francesca's $14.00 and the stockings are priced at $12.00.

Treasures found...

 I love these whimsical dresses. I could see myself accessorizing the middle dress with turquoise earrings and shoes. I fancy the details and the hint of skin that shows through the mid-riff.  I picture myself twirling around my house with the dress on the left (yes, I still twirl... don't judge! :-) ) or having some dinner with friends in the hot pink number on the far right. These fabulous and extremely abtainable dresses are from Francesca's found in their final sale rack section. There was an additional 40% taken off at the register which priced them each under $30. Needless to say it was a great day and you should dash to Francesca's to see what treasures you might find.

Affordable & stylish items

Last weekend, I decided to drag myself out of the house which I feel I have been hibernating in all winter long during the weekends when I'm not working at my normal 9-5. I ended up in TJMaxx and to my surprise I found many fashionable bags that caught my fancy. As I gushed over the Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors selections, I thought about my principles and how I wanted to pick a very affordable bag that had the look of a luxury bag. I finally selected this TJMAxx bag item #839414 (item number on receipt) because of it's classic shape and versitale color. This bag can be worn with many different outfits and it is priced for only $34.99. After tearing myself away from the bag section I went into the shoe area and feasted my eyes on this blush pink Nine West shoe also shown. I love a pretty shoe, but more importantly... a sensible, comfortable shoe, and this Nine West shoe item #271570 does suffice at the same reasonable price of $34.99. This winter has been a brutal one but I will try my best to post more items that are available in this present time.
